AFTERCARE

Adhesive Bandages

Our adhesive bandages are waterproof, breathable, and act as a second skin, providing an effective barrier against water, bacteria, and unnecessary exposures to promote a hassle-free and easy healing process.

  • Duration: Keep the adhesive bandage on for a minimum of 2 days and no longer than 5 days.

  • Irritation: If a rash or irritation occurs, remove the bandage immediately and proceed to after bandage aftercare.

  • Sweating: Bandages may not stay on if you perspire heavily.

  • Peeling: If the bandage starts peeling and exposes any part of the tattoo, remove it to prevent water and bacteria from entering, which could lead to infection.

  • Allergies: Inform your artist if you have any allergies to adhesives. The same aftercare instructions apply.

Day 1

After Bandage

Remove the Bandage: Do this in the shower.

  1. Wash Your Tattoo: Use lukewarm water and non-scented mild soap. Gently wash away any ointment, blood, and plasma with your hand (not a washcloth).

  2. Dry the Tattoo: Pat the area with a clean towel or paper towel until completely dry.

  3. Apply Ointment: Use a lotion/cream-based ointment. Apply as needed and consult your artist for preferred products.

Day 2-5

Dry Healing Method

This method involves keeping your tattoo dry except for washing. Apply lotion minimally to soothe itching. This can speed up the healing process for some people.

  • Avoid: Vaseline, aloe vera, Neosporin, and body oils as they can hinder healing or cause allergic reactions.

Your tattoo should start drying and flaking.

  • Clean Hands: Always handle your tattoo with clean hands.

  • Lotion: Apply a thin layer of lotion when needed. Rub it in so that almost no trace is left on the surface.

  • Itching and Peeling: Do not pick or scratch. You can slap the area gently to relieve itching.

Day 5-15

Your tattoo will be at its itchiest.

  • Slap, Don’t Scratch: Use light ointment as needed and always handle your tattoo with clean hands.

Day 15-30

Your tattoo will appear flaky and shiny.

  • Light Lotion: Continue using light lotion until fully healed. A healed tattoo will be matte and settled with no sheen.

  5. Always wash your hands before handling your tattoo.

  6. Do not scratch or pick at your tattoo.

  7. Avoid applying sunscreen to a fresh tattoo.

  8. For sensitive skin, avoid shellfish and raw food until fully healed.
